The committee meets 3 times a year at the Mailbox in Birmingham. Members of the committee do a brief update on their area of expertise, clearly trying to bring up items that are of potential interest to the programme makers, and then each of Farming Today, the Archers, Countryfile (TV and magazine), Food Programme and Costing the Earth update on what they are covering and planning. We end with a short presentation from a guest speaker, on a topic to stimulate a debate. We have a buffet lunch, of the expected BBC standard, during which members get collared by programme makers if they have raised something they want to know more about! It is a great way of keeping the rural programmes topical.
